Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week.  Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, our Art Teacher, Ms. Rebecca Taylor.  Ms. Taylor did an amazing job creating a beautiful banner for the Shorebirds game.  She put on a fabulous Art Show, that was enjoyed by all.

Congratulations to our Students of the Week; Brantley Dowden in PreK-4 and Gabe Linton in 1st Grade.  Brantley has come out of his shell so much this year.  He is always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends.  He has grown so much!  Gabe is being celebrated because his communication skills have been increasing with other students remarkably.  When other students and staff greet him Gave says “good morning” and “thank you”.  Both boys are showing the Woodson Way!

Tomorrow, Monday, June 9th, will be our First Grade Awards at 10:00 am and Second Grade Awards at 1:45 pm.  Both will be located in the gym.  Please bring your driver’s license or government ID to run through our Navigate 360 system to ensure the safety of students and staff.

On Tuesday, June 10th, our students who earned their PBIS trip in grades PreK-3 and PreK-4, will be going to Coco’s Funhouse.  Also, on Tuesday at 10:00 am, will be Mrs. Bennet’s Class Awards.

Wednesday, June 11th, our 1st grade students will be taking a field trip to the Baltimore Zoo.  The bus will depart from the school at 7:00 am, which is prior to the start of the school day.  This means students will need transportation and arrive at school at 6:45 am, to ensure they are on time to leave at 7:00 am.  The bus will return to the school at 5:00 pm, which is after hours, so students will need someone to pick them up, as they will not be able to ride their regular bus home.

Thursday, June 12th, we will celebrate our 3rd Graders at their Awards Assembly at 10:00 am and 4th Grade Awards will be at 1:30 pm.

On Friday, June 13th, we will have Kindergarten Awards at 12:00 pm.

We will celebrate our 5th Grade students on Monday, June 16th, at 1:30 pm, for their 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony.  Please arrive early to make sure you have enough time to check in in the front office and can get a seat.  We are looking forward to seeing our students families and celebrating this memorable moment with you.

Looking ahead to the following week of June 16th through June 20th, students and staff may dress in appropriate casual attire.  No tank tops, halter tops, tops that show the belly button, rips in jeans, or jeans that have holes in them.  June 17th-18th are early dismissal days.  Students will be dismissed at 12:30 pm.  Schools are closed on Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19th.  Students will return on June 20th for their last day of school, which is also an early dismissal day.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a good evening.
